So whenever someone goes to view your website, a request is sent from their web browser of choice to the web server your website is hosted on. The web server then sends them a copy of the web page and any images and scripts is needs to display properly, then the web browser displays the web page.

Green Web Hosting is basically web hosting that uses renewable energy sources to either power the web servers, or to offset the energy used by the web servers.
